1965 Ford Mustang: Pro Touring

When you say classic muscle car, Mustang is the name that will form in a lot of peoples imagination. This one is a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback. Our client has owned this car for many years and enjoyed many sunny days of cruising. Every restorations is unique. For some we are only restoring mechanical systems, or only restoring the interior or paint. For this restoration we are going the whole way, with some upgrades.

The first step of this car restoration is the body and and paint. For this Justin started out with complete disassembly of the vehicle. Removing all trim, bumpers, lights, glass, door, weatherstripping, etc. We do this to make sure that our client gets a very complete paint job and we miss no area. After that Justin is stripping the paint off the vehicle and going to bare metal. This assures that there is no hidden rust in the vehicle that could pop up later. Once the vehicle is to bare metal Justin will cut out any rusted areas and replace it with good metal. After that we will etch and seal the vehicle. Finally we will use skim coats of fiberglass filler around the vehicle to smooth our repairs out.

We are also mechanically restoring this car. A crate engine and 6 speed transmission, supercharger and custom shifter. Rewiring the vehicle. Installing new steering suspension and brakes. New fuel lines, brake lines, power front disk brakes, installing an aftermarket tilt steering column, replacing the rear end and installing huge drags, custom fuel cell, upgrading to MSD electronic ignition and installing a digital dash.

Once the vehicle is repainted, using our house brand of Spies Hecker paint we will install a fresh new interior and assemble the body.

You can see the supercharger set up on the top of the engine below.
